Looking for the security of long-term work in Dover? There is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a main contractor at the Port of Dover. You’ll work closely with a Managing QS to run a civil engineering maintenance contract over the next 5 years’. The business is an excellent employer working nationwide on major projects in rail, highways and water. They have a culture to promote from within, train their staff and take pride in their delivery and safety on site. Due to the increasing demand of the port and recent expansion the framework is expected to consistently produce new schemes for you to manage as well as build as relationship with the client and begin to secure more work on complex projects. Quantity Surveyor Duties: * Working with the project team to record costs, change and variation * Making applications for payments * Assist with procurement of materials and subcontractors * Minimise cost and risk of the project and enhance value for money * Provide commercial support to the engineering staff on site and carry out measures * Manage costs and budget in line with the NEC contract The role will also suit a someone who has been in a Maintenance Manager or Depot Manager role
