Do you have an interest in supporting a successful retail operation through your skills in developing commercial relationships, strategic engagements, and generating stock donations? If this sounds like you, come and join the trading team at St Christophers where you will be developing commercial partnerships with external organisations to drive stock into our retail operation.

You will be taking on responsibility for developing relationships with external organisations with a primary objective of driving donations of stock into our retail operation. You will also take part in engaging with external suppliers and organisations that may provide some other substantial benefit.

The work will involve strategic planning to identify potential commercial partners that operate within the range of St Christophers and may be able to provide stock or other benefit to the retail division. This includes maintaining a database of information and outcomes and managing engagements and a diary. You will oversee an end-to-end process from mapping out prospects to closing on a donation arrangement.

The role will rely on using expert knowledge of the charitable work of St Christophers as well as a full understanding of the retail operations activities, needs, and capabilities. You will be assertive, confident, and influential and able to communicate all the way up to c-suite. You will then utilise high level communication ability to engage with decision makers and senior people in organisations with the intent of generating donations of stock. This may be through a charitable ask or through providing some meaningful exchange of services.

The role will include attending events and face to face meetings across South East London. The role will also include contributing to internal events planning and taking part as a representative of St Christophers retail team.

Who are we Looking For?

  • You will have excellent demonstrable experience in developing commercial partnerships at a corporate/senior level.
  • You will have a proven track record of engaging with external organisations to provide a high volume exchange of goods or services.
  • You will have good experience in a sales, business development, or related position, managing an end-to-end process of client acquisition.
  • You will have some experience in event planning and have professional experience attending events and conferences.
  • Senior level experience within non-profit, retail, or logistics is desirable.
  • You will have high level administrative and organisational skills with the ability to write excellent professional communication.
  • You will be confident, assertive, and influential.
  • You will be target driven and pro-active with the ability to self-manage based on targets and KPIs.
  • You will be able to travel across South East London.
