Due to a surge in long-term project demand, we are expanding our medical and scientific team and looking for an experienced Product Development Lead to join our world-class engineering consultancy. This is an exceptional opportunity for a technically gifted and commercially astute individual to play a pivotal role in delivering innovative solutions that make a real difference.

Your Role

  • Take ownership of complex, multi-disciplinary medical product development projects from initial client engagement through to delivery.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of development programmes to ISO 13485 standards.
  • Act as both technical and project lead, coordinating diverse skill sets across design, mechanical, electronics, and software engineering.
  • Collaborate with strategic clients to understand their needs, craft compelling proposals, and build lasting relationships.
  • Represent the business at international events, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Support sector marketing through technical presentations and thought leadership.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Proven experience leading successful medical product development projects within an ISO 13485 framework.
  • A solid background in engineering consultancy or product design environments, balancing quality, cost, timescales, and risk.
  • A degree (1st or 2:1) in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Design Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Strong technical and commercial acumen, with the ability to scope and manage budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Deep understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes (e.g., injection moulding) and use of CAE tools.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills – able to inspire teams and instil confidence in clients.
