Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Overview I am working with the UK’s primary developer and operator of Clean Heat Networks who are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team. This is a remote based role with travel into their London office once or twice per week, therefore you will need to be situated within a commutable distance of London. The company work with a range of clients, mostly New Build Housing and Multi Occupancy Building developers for which they design, install and operate Heat Pump Networks. The company have been operating since 2012 and have quickly grown to a team of circa 50 people. As the team grows there will be opportunities for progression. As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for a range of renewable energy heat network projects. These will include 4th and 5th generation heat networks, energy centres and distribution through multi occupancy developments, including new-build housing developments, hotels, schools and commercial buildings. You will be working as part of the mechanical design team to deliver projects from feasibility through to construction. This is a technical role and will enable you to work on all parts of the project from upfront strategic planning, right through to project management and implementation. Duties will include: * Reporting to the Technical Director, assisting and coordinating design priorities with the client and project deliverables * Optimised design for both ambient and traditional heat network designs to comply with CP1 * Production of calculations, specifications and technical submittals * Liaison with client design team, involvement in design development through to construction issue drawings. * Assisting with the production of Revit 3D models, currently outsourced * Updating and providing basic 2D cad drawings, supported with a CAD technician The design team is growing quickly. They have a Junior Design Engineer starting and are recruiting for both a Design Engineer and this role as Senior. As the team expands, there will be opportunities for progression for you. Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Requirements * A bachelor’s degree in building services or a related field is preferred, but HNC will be considered alongside experience * Experience in Mechanical engineering, engineering consultancy and/or Mechanical installations * Experience in design packages e.g., AutoCAD, REVIT, COMSOF * Experience in Plantroom design and coordination * Knowledge of CP1 and Heat Networks Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Salary & Remuneration * Salary up to £70,000 * Discretionary Performance related Bonus * Laptop, Phone, anything required for day to day * 25 Days Holiday + BH * Full Sick Pay * Progression Opportunities * Pension * More benefits such as Private Healthcare being added shortly
