Your new company Hays are currently recruiting for an Urban Drainage Modeller to be based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. We are working in partnership with a world-leading design, engineering and project management organisation dedicated to engineering a better future for everyone. The company is committed to delivering end to end service to their clients across the whole life cycle from Capital, Consulting, Decommissioning, Engineering and Design, Operations and Maintenance, Project and Program management up to Project Delivery. Your new role The Urban Drainage Modeller will be part of a multidisciplinary team with a national focus. You’ll work on significant projects and contribute to the development of cutting-edge digital services for clients. Roles will involve working on feasibility studies, using computer analysis typically to support flooding and environmental improvement projects, site visits and liaison with clients, contractors, stakeholders and other professional bodies. The output will typically be in short reports to outline the approach taken and findings from the investigation. What you’ll need to succeed Our client is looking for candidates with essential qualifications for the Senior Drainage Engineer role, such as: B.Sc./B.Eng./M.Eng. degree level: geography, GIS, Science, engineering related subject or equivalent considered with appropriate professional qualifications at the senior levels. Technician roles require HNC and HND level qualifications in similar subjects. Experience/awareness of urban drainage modelling within InfoWorks ICM (or CS), GIS packages such as ARC or MapInfo and civil engineering would be advantageous. Must have experience in drainage design including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS). Proficient with AutoCAD and Hydraulic modelling – preferably Microdrainage and/or Civils 3D. Working knowledge of the CDM Regulations. Proven track record of coordinating and delivering technically excellent projects on time and to budget It would be desirable if you have experience working in a Design & Build environment and with sound commercial understanding.
