Design Engineer

White Label is hiring a Design Engineer for an engineering and manufacturing company in Bedford. As the Design Engineer you will be working within an ISO 9001 environment and carry out all aspects of design for manufacture of the company’s mechanical products. My client is offering a salary of £40,000 – £45,000 plus benefits: * 37.5 hours with flexible start and finish time * Enhanced pension * 25 days holiday + bank holidays Key Responsibilities of the Design Engineer * Design and model mechanical components using 3D CAD (NX, Inventor, AutoCAD) * Produce 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D assemblies * Conduct FEA/FMEA analysis for safety and performance * Manage design projects including new developments and bespoke work * Apply DFMA principles and Value Engineering to optimise designs * Create BOMs, material specs, IOM manuals, and technical documentation * Support continuous improvement and participate in Kaizen events * Occasional practical work/testing and UK/international supplier/customer visits Experience required of the Design Engineer * 5+ years in mechanical design using 3D CAD * Mechanical Engineering degree preferred (HND/HNC minimum) * FEA experience preferred * Background in rotating machinery is advantageous This vacancy is being managed by Paul Smith.
