Planner / Buyer – Engineering & Manufacturing – Hailsham We’re seeking an experienced Planner / Buyer to join a forward-thinking engineering business based in Hailsham. Supplying cutting-edge manufacturing systems to the aerospace, defence, and advanced materials sectors, the company is expanding and now needs a capable Planner / Buyer to support production planning, procurement, and supply chain coordination. As a Planner / Buyer, you will take ownership of Microsoft Project planning for system builds, while supporting the purchasing manager with end-to-end procurement activities. This role will give you exposure across operations, R&D, and manufacturing, offering fantastic variety and progression potential. Job Details: Location: Hailsham, East Sussex Type: Permanent, Full-Time Hours: 37.5 hours per week Start Date: Immediate Benefits: Private Health Insurance, 25 days holiday + bank holidays Occasional UK and short overseas travel required On-site role (not remote) Key Responsibilities: Plan and place purchase orders as directed by the Purchasing Manager Generate Microsoft Project plans for system builds and R&D activities Coordinate with production, engineering, and design teams to maintain schedule accuracy Monitor material availability and supplier performance Support new MRP/ERP implementation and capacity planning Maintain accurate stock levels and forecast supply chain requirements Communicate proactively with internal teams to flag delays or changes Required Skills & Experience: Background in Procurement or Master Production Scheduling within a manufacturing environment Strong planning skills and experience using MRP systems Proficiency in Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tools Confident communicator, capable of working across departments Analytical mindset with attention to detail Apply now if you are a detail-driven Planner / Buyer with a passion for process improvement and supply chain coordination
