Main Activities/Responsibilities:
- Act as a strong finance business partner to the 3 UK operating businesses trading entities building strong relationships whilst also challenging performance.
- Provide Directors and senior management with best-in-class insight and analysis and be part of the informed commercial decision making as a result.
- Build robust and streamlined financial modelling both as part of regular reporting, and as part of ad hoc analysis.
- Take a lead on stock reporting, analysis and insight across the 3 UK trading entities across 3 different finance systems ensuring consistency.
- Support the Service business to drive growth via tenders, customer and service centre profitability and business case financial support.
- Ad hoc business case assessment including investment appraisal of capex and non-capex opportunities.
- Be part of and drive continuous improvement both in own analysis and reporting, and in the wider business performance.
- Ensure divisional heads understand and own their numbers by providing informative analysis to aid decision making.
- Play a key part in the company wide Budget and Forecasting process.
- Be the deputy to the Head of FP&A UK as and when required.
Competencies:
- Experience of Integrated financial modelling.
- Highly commercial focus and thinking with the ability to support and challenge the wider business whilst maintaining strong relationships.
- Strong communicator, able to coherently convey complex financial issues to both accountants and non-accountants.
- Ability to influence both face to face and over Teams given hybrid working model we adopt as a company.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects comfortable interacting at all levels of an organisation.
- Exposure to working in a complex and multi discipline businesses.
- Keen attention to detail.
Reporting Relationships and Supervision:
- No direct reports, direct reporting line to Head of FP&A UK.
Education and Experience:
- Qualified accountant.
- 2 years + PQE.
- Advanced excel skills a prerequisite.
- Manufacturing and service business exposure a distinct advantage.
- Working knowledge of stock processes and improvement activities desirable.
- Commercial finance experience across tenders, profitability analysis and/or business improvement activity.
