The Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you’ll be supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Working either 1:1 or in small groups, you’ll help create a stable and positive learning environment that encourages growth, engagement, and emotional resilience. You’ll be part of a committed team that values inclusion, structure, and student wellbeing.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in small groups or on a 1:1 basis
- Assisting in delivering tailored learning and behaviour support plans
- Helping students build self-esteem, social skills, and emotional regulation
- Creating a calm, encouraging environment that promotes engagement
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists
- Contributing to the development and implementation of personalised support plans
Who We’re Looking For
- A compassionate, adaptable person with a passion for supporting vulnerable learners
- Experience in SEMH, SEN, care, or behavioural settings is highly valued
- Confident in managing behaviour calmly and constructively
- A team player with excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Access to transport is useful but not essential
