The Role

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you’ll be supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Working either 1:1 or in small groups, you’ll help create a stable and positive learning environment that encourages growth, engagement, and emotional resilience. You’ll be part of a committed team that values inclusion, structure, and student wellbeing.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in small groups or on a 1:1 basis
  • Assisting in delivering tailored learning and behaviour support plans
  • Helping students build self-esteem, social skills, and emotional regulation
  • Creating a calm, encouraging environment that promotes engagement
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of personalised support plans

Who We’re Looking For

  • A compassionate, adaptable person with a passion for supporting vulnerable learners
  • Experience in SEMH, SEN, care, or behavioural settings is highly valued
  • Confident in managing behaviour calmly and constructively
  • A team player with excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Access to transport is useful but not essential
