What Happens in Processing Anyway?

  • Sort donated items and identify great finds
  • Help identify recyclable items. Even if we can\’t sell it, we can keep it out of the landfill!
  • Get those great finds sales floor ready
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Load and unload carts to get merchandise out safely and efficiently
  • Clean up and reset the processing area at the end of each day

    Position Purpose and Objectives

    The Online Thrift Product Processor is an entry-level role responsible for efficiently preparing donated items for online sales to support our retail store teams. This position involves handling a variety of tasks to ensure products meet quality standards and are ready for listing.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Efficiently process donated goods across all product categories as directed.
    • Inspect items to ensure they meet defined quality standards.
    • Maintain productivity goals without compromising work quality.
    • Clean and prepare items for sale as needed.
    • Facilitate the movement of goods to the listing stage.
    • Verify manifests to ensure alignment with arriving items.
    • Receive, transport, and organize donation containers in designated areas.
    • Load, unload, and transfer products within the warehouse.
    • Operate warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks, to move inventory.
    • Track production output and product levels, recording data accurately.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, performing regular cleanup activities.
    • Record assigned metrics and complete daily reports.
    • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Strong work ethic and ability to take initiative.
    • Quick learner with an action-oriented mindset.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Ability to conduct reliable online research.
    • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and dependable.
    • Capable of completing tasks efficiently while meeting productivity quotas.
    • Strong adherence to policies and procedures.
    • Willingness to provide feedback for process improvements.
    • Previous experience in e-commerce or retail environments (e.g., eBay, Amazon) preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a plus.
    • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
    • Successful completion of background check and drug screen.

    Physical Demands:

    • Frequently – Carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing and pulling up to 25 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing up to 14-foot height, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, handling and smelling.
    • Frequently – Walking on tile/concrete, bending, feeling, and reaching waist/overhead level.
    • Continuously – Standing on tile/concrete, talking, seeing, and hearing.

    Other:

    • Mostly regular and weekend hours, occasionally working evenings and holiday hours as needed.
    • Working environment includes inside of building withsemi- controlled temperatures and outside conditions with varying weather and temperatures.
