Join Capita and help us deliver essential services that keep the public sector running smoothly. We’re looking for a dedicated and proactive Cleaner to join our Tascor team at the Middlesbrough Custody Suite. In this vital role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the Vulnerability Suite, ID Suite, and PHT areas. Occasionally, you may also support cleaning operations in the main Custody Suite.
This is more than just a cleaning role – it’s about taking pride in your work, supporting operational effectiveness, and contributing to a safe and professional environment for Cleveland Police. This is a full-time job working Monday to Friday, 8am until 4pm.
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering daily and emergency cleaning services to designated areas, including detainee cells, showers, toilets, kitchens, charge desks, and offices.
- Ensuring all waste is collected and disposed of correctly within the facility.
- Maintaining and safely operating cleaning equipment, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
- Replenishing hygiene supplies such as soap and toilet rolls in line with Health & Safety standards.
- Reporting maintenance issues to the Tascor 24/7 Helpdesk.
- Working flexibly and collaboratively with the wider facilities team to meet service needs.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous cleaning experience in a commercial setting.
- A strong team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high standards.
- Flexibility around working hours and locations.
- Lived in the UK for at least 5 years (This is required for police vetting).
