Cootes Veterinary Clinic, Burgess Hill is seeking an additional Receptionist to join our well-established team. The Receptionist is responsible for helping keep the Practice clean, open and safe. You will be the first point of contact for clients and the public both on the telephone and in person, so will be required to demonstrate a professional and knowledgeable impression to promote the Practice.
Your role will involve:
- Delivering exceptional service and a positive experience to all patients and customers.
- Acting as the welcoming first point of contact for patients and visitors.
- Professionally managing all incoming telephone calls with courtesy and efficiency.
- Greeting and assisting visitors warmly and attentively.
- Efficiently handling appointment booking, cancellations, rescheduling, and follow-up communications.
- Responding to general administrative enquiries or directing them to the appropriate team member.
- Managing administrative tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Promptly addressing and resolving issues related to telephone calls, emails, or paperwork.
- Accurately processing and recording patient payments.
- Dispensing medications and prescriptions in accordance with protocols.
- Maintaining and updating client and patient records systematically.
- Monitoring and managing stock levels to ensure adequate supplies.
- Keeping the reception area and consulting rooms clean, organised, and welcoming at all times.

The Perfect Fit
The successful candidate must be friendly and enthusiastic, some Veterinary Practice experience is an advantage but not essential, but must have a great attitude and a willingness to learn. You will need to be confident and able to interact with our clients providing a high level of service and customer care. You must also be able to work on your own, without supervision, when required.
About the rota
This is a Part Time, permanent contract, working 20 hours per week, working between the hours of 8:30 am – 7 pm. This will include working one Saturday morning until 1pm, every 3 weeks.
