We are now seeking a female Sports Coach to deliver weekly, inclusive and engaging physical activity sessions as part of our female-only programme. The role offers flexibility and is ideal for someone looking to contribute to meaningful, community-focused work.
Salary: £15.00 per hour
Hours: Casual, minimum 2 hours per week
Location: Wakefield
Contract: Self-Employed, invoiced monthly

Job Purpose:
Lead the delivery of inclusive, fun, and safe sports sessions for women and girls, supporting increased participation and confidence in physical activity within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality sports and activity sessions tailored to female participants.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and empowering environment.
- Engage and motivate participants, supporting their physical, social, and emotional development.
- Ensure safety and adherence to safeguarding and health and safety policies.
- Complete basic monitoring and evaluation tasks (attendance, feedback).
- Act as a positive ambassador for Disability Sport Yorkshire.
Person Specification:
- Female (occupational requirement).
- Experience in delivering sports or activity sessions.
- Positive, inclusive, and engaging communication style.
- Commitment to equality and supporting underrepresented groups.
- Ability to motivate participants of different ages and abilities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours (evenings/weekends).
- Standard DBS check or willingness to undertake one.
- Safeguarding and First Aid training or willingness to complete.
- Recognised coaching qualification (e.g., Level 1/2 or equivalent).
- Lived experience of disability or understanding of barriers faced by disabled women.
- Experience working with girls and women in community settings.
