The Treasurer plays a vital role in ensuring the charity complies with government guidelines and HMRC requirements. This is essential for maintaining lawful operations and the continued existence of the charity.
What are we looking for?
Our Treasurer should have experience in managing finances and liaising with regulatory bodies such as HMRC. They need excellent attention to detail to accurately record finances and make payments. Experience in writing financial reports and submitting them to regulatory bodies, navigating complex requirements, is also necessary.
What will you be doing?
The Treasurer monitors income and expenditure, ensures accurate records are kept, and recommends actions regarding funds. They ensure funds are handled legally and in accordance with the charity\’s constitution, and that income raised is securely held and effectively used, with transparent reporting.
Additional Information
This role is volunteer-based and involves working closely with the charity to ensure financial health and compliance. Prior experience in finance or accounting is preferred but not mandatory; training and support will be provided.
