My client, a leading international manufacturing/engineering business in North Yorkshire, are looking to recruit a Mechanical Technician to join their existing testing team on a permanent basis. This role has been created due to growth within the department with the addition of new testing facilities. These roles will be available for experienced Mechanical Engineers to be involved in a range of Hydrostatic/Pneumatic pressure testing. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Mechanical/Hydraulic Assemblies/Sub-assemblies. This presents the opportunity to work in one of the country's largest pressure testing facilities. This is a days-based role - 8.30am to 4.30pm Mon-Thurs and 8.30am to 4pm Friday.

Role Description

  • Perform tests including external/internal hydrostatic and/or pneumatic, static/dynamic weight and buoyancy.
  • Assembly of hydraulic/mechanical test equipment.
  • Mechanical assembly of submersible products consisting of structural components, pumps, motors, valves, manifolds, manipulators, gearing, etc.
  • To perform pressure & electrical/optical function testing of cables, connectors and PCBs.
  • Complete all documentation associated with client/in-house testing.
  • Complete all required QHSE documentation including Risk Assessments, ECNet, etc.
  • Carry out offsite duties as assigned.
  • Carry out maintenance to test equipment as assigned.
  • Carry out job tasks safely using good working practice.
  • Ensure good housekeeping.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Candidate Skills

  • Time Served Engineer
  • Working knowledge of Mechanical/Hydraulic systems
  • Previous experience in Hydrostatic pressure testing (advantageous)
  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment
  • Safety Conscious and able to follow SOPs
