Our client, a leading global consultancy, is partnering with a prestigious end client based in Bournemouth. We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a talented Java Technical Lead to join a fast-paced project within the insurance technology space. In this role you’ll guide a small Agile delivery team through full‑lifecycle software development—helping shape solutions, writing high‑quality code, and mentoring other developers.

Day Rate: Inside IR35 (Flexible)
What You’ll Do:
- Lead design & development efforts from requirements gathering through to implementation and support
- Produce and review detailed design documentation alongside architects and infrastructure specialists
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to refine requirements, user stories & acceptance criteria
- Write hands‑on Java code (approx. 50% of your time) using Spring Framework and modern tooling
- Define and enforce best practices, design patterns, and coding standards across the team
- Mentor and coach junior and mid‑level developers through technical workshops and code reviews
- Track and report progress to Scrum Masters and Project Managers, ensuring on‑time delivery
What You’ll Bring:
- 5+ years’ hands‑on experience with Java 11+ and Spring Framework (Spring Boot, MVC, Security/OAuth2)
- Proven expertise in building & consuming SOAP and RESTful web services
- Familiarity with middleware integration patterns and Azure Cloud services
- Solid understanding of software design patterns and ability to communicate them clearly
- Strong Agile background—comfortable working in Scrum ceremonies and iterative delivery
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating across technical and non‑technical teams
