We are currently seeking hardworking and enthusiastic individuals to join our client's team as Street Scene Operatives. This is a great opportunity for ongoing work.
Pay: £13.47 per hour, with overtime paid at £20.20 per hour
Hours: Varying hours, including some weekends
Weekly hours: 37
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ensure residents of Cardiff comply with waste service provisions
- Encourage proper waste presentation and enhance recycling through education and enforcement
- Investigate incorrect waste presentation and storage according to County Council policy, including waste storage, presentation issues, and deposits on adopted highways
- Conduct LEQ patrols for offences such as dog control violations, abandoned shopping trolleys, and littering
- Make enforcement decisions based on evidence, issue formal notices and fixed penalty notices, and prepare prosecution cases when necessary
- Perform physical activities such as bending, lifting, and walking during patrols
- Work outdoors and indoors, with exposure to disagreeable conditions like hazardous waste and adverse weather
