The predicted salary is between 42000 - 60000 £ per year.
In this role you will be supporting the existing team leader to manage the Food and H&S team. You will be managing the team to deliver our food hygiene and standards inspection programme, investigating complaints regarding food and health & safety matters. You will also be assisting with a variety of other functions including health & safety at work, investigation of accidents and infectious disease control. Your work will include providing expert advice and guidance to the team for complex cases as well as directing day to day work. You will be responsible for carrying out 121's and associated HR functions as well as ensuring performance and service delivery.
Responsibilities
- To lead and direct the operational arrangements to deliver an effective Public Protection Service, providing enforcement activities, business advice and support.
- Delivering high standard of customer service within professional area.
- The post holder has financial and resource responsibility for managing revenue and capital budgets within their cost centre.
- Effectively working with elected Members, business partners, external agencies, the private sector and other key stakeholders.
- To develop and maintain good working relationships with partner agencies including but not limited to, the Metropolitan Police, London Fire Service, Customs & Excise, Home Office, Food Standards Agency commercial investigators and other local authorities and ensure cooperative operational arrangements exist.
- To be the lead practitioner for the Council to ensure compliance within specialist area, related to legislation through the application of technical skills, legal knowledge, investigation techniques and enforcement skills. Including enforcement work through to successful prosecution within the area of specialisation.
- Managing the delivery of programmes and projects from inception to completion.
- Experience of leading and developing successful work programmes.
- Use of ICT, the MS Windows operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, GIS, Instant Messaging and APPs and tools for mobile working.
Requirements
- Experience of successfully leading within public protection services.
- Experience of successfully leading a multi-disciplined enforcement workforce.
- Experience of effectively working with elected Members, business partners, external agencies, the private sector and other key stakeholders.
- A high level of achievement in meeting statutory duties, attaining legal compliance and enforcement work through to successful prosecution.
- Experience of leading the delivery of programmes and projects from inception to completion.
- Experience of leading and developing successful work programmes.
