Job Description: Message Therapist Position Overview A Message Therapist, also commonly known as a Massage Therapist, is responsible for providing professional therapeutic massage services to clients in order to relieve stress, alleviate pain, and improve overall physical wellness. Using a variety of massage techniques, the Message Therapist tailors each session to meet individual client needs, helping to promote relaxation, stimulate healing, and enhance physical function. Key Responsibilities -Conduct Client Assessments – Interview clients to understand their medical history, current physical condition, and specific needs or areas of concern. – Create personalized treatment plans that align with client health goals and physical requirements. – Perform Therapeutic Massage Techniques – Administer a range of massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, sports, and other therapeutic modalities, based on client preferences and needs. – Adjust pressure and technique as required to provide a comfortable and beneficial experience for each client. – Promote Client Wellness and Education – Educate clients on the benefits of massage therapy and provide advice on post-session care, stretching exercises, and general wellness practices. – Discuss ongoing treatment recommendations and suggest other wellness resources as needed. – Maintain a Clean and Safe Environment – Sanitize massage tables, tools, and equipment between sessions in accordance with health and safety guidelines. – Maintain a calming, organized, and professional workspace to enhance client relaxation and comfort. – Administrative Duties – Manage client scheduling, documentation, and session notes for accurate records and continuity of care. – Process payments, handle client inquiries, and address feedback in a professional manner. – Stay Updated on Industry Knowledge – Engage in continuous professional development, keeping up-to-date with new massage techniques, health regulations, and therapeutic trends.
