Northern Skills are recruiting on behalf of Meldrum Group for a Groundwork apprentice. This will allow you to gain on the job experience while studying towards a Level 2 property maintenance apprenticeship standard.

Wage: £15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age (National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices)

Training course: Property maintenance operative (level 2)

Hours: Monday - Thursday, 7.00am - 4.00pm; Friday, 7.00am - 3.00pm. 40 hours a week

Duration: 2 years

What you’ll do at work: As an Apprentice Groundworker, you will support in a variety of tasks across the business, including:

  • Laying pipes
  • Manhole covers
  • Mixing concrete for pouring
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are cleaned and maintained

You will also work across multiple trade disciplines such as:

  • Joinery
  • Pointing
  • Tiling
  • Plastering
  • Electrical work
  • Painting and decorating
  • Ventilation

Training: Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills at Middlesbrough College.

Your training course: Property maintenance operative (level 2)

Requirements:

  • GCSE in Maths & English (grade 3 or above)
