Join our dedicated and passionate team as a Multi-Disciplinary Veterinary Care Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in delivering the highest level of care to our patients. In this role, you'll assist with tasks in both our High Dependency Unit and surgery/ward settings, ensuring excellent hospital service and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Walking patients, feeding, kennel cleaning, and laundry.
  • Ordering supplies, cleaning and preparing surgical theatres, sterilising instruments.
  • Completing patient treatment sheets, admitting patients onto the system, recording weights, and updating the ward board.
  • Maintaining infection prevention control throughout our hospital.
  • Supporting our nurses and clinicians daily.

Located just outside High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, Hamilton Specialist Referrals (HSR) is a purpose-built, 24-hour veterinary hospital with state-of-the-art facilities for advanced treatments, rehabilitation, and physiotherapy for cats and dogs. What Skills You'll Need

  • Experience in animal care or handling, ideally with relevant Animal Care qualifications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, excellent time management, and attention to detail are essential.
  • Effective communication, adaptability, initiative, professionalism, resilience, and flexibility to work additional hours are also required.

Working Pattern

This full-time role involves 40 hours per week, with five 8-hour shifts on a rota between 07:00 and 20:30. You will work one in six weekends (with time off in lieu) and cover two bank holidays per year.
