Join our dedicated and passionate team as a Multi-Disciplinary Veterinary Care Assistant, where you\’ll play a vital role in delivering the highest level of care to our patients. In this role, you\’ll assist with tasks in both our High Dependency Unit and surgery/ward settings, ensuring excellent hospital service and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

As a VCA, your daily duties will include:

1. Walking patients, feeding, kennel cleaning, and laundry.
2. Ordering supplies, cleaning and preparing surgical theatres, sterilising instruments.
3. Completing patient treatment sheets, admitting patients onto the system, recording weights, and updating the ward board.
4. Maintaining infection prevention control throughout our hospital.
5. Supporting our nurses and clinicians daily.

What Skills You\’ll Need

Experience in animal care or handling, ideally with relevant Animal Care qualifications. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, excellent time management, and attention to detail are essential. Effective communication, adaptability, initiative, professionalism, resilience, and flexibility to work additional hours are also required.

Working Pattern

This full-time role involves 40 hours per week, with five 8-hour shifts on a rota between 07:00 and 20:30. You will work one in six weekends (with time off in lieu) and cover two bank holidays per year.
