This is a fantastic opportunity for an Analyst to join our highly regarded Power, Utilities and Infrastructure (PUI) team that provides tailored strategic financial advice to clients across various sectors including power generation (primarily focused on renewables), utilities, environmental services, infrastructure, energy infrastructure, transport, and energy transition (hydrogen, energy storage, EV charging).

The primary focus of the team is on M&A / Equity Advisory while also collaborating with other teams across the Bank on Financing and Equity Capital Markets opportunities. The role offers the chance to be part of a dynamic, high-performing and well-respected team that is at the forefront of Europe's energy and infrastructure transition.

You will have exposure to a wide variety of sub-sectors within PUI as well as products (M&A, Equity, Debt) working collaboratively with various teams that will provide excellent opportunities for career and personal development.

Key Purposes / Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Preparation and maintenance of detailed financial models
  • Contribution to valuation analysis and strategic assessments
  • Conduct industry and company research to support business development and origination efforts
  • Produce high-quality client materials including pitch-books, information memoranda and sector insights
  • Collaborate with colleagues across multiple teams within Soc Gen including capital structure, ratings advisory, project finance and ECM
  • Exercise sound judgement in prioritising tasks, escalating issues when necessary and meeting tight deadlines across multiple projects
  • Supervising and supporting junior analysts and interns, reviewing their work, providing feedback and assisting in their professional development

Profile required:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or related discipline. Advanced qualifications (e.g MSc) are advantageous
  • Experience in an Investment Banking, or related Financial Services environment with exposure to energy and/or infrastructure sectors
  • Advanced financial modelling and valuation skills
  • Strong analytical thinker with ability to synthesise complex information quickly and accurately
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Fluent English is required with additional European languages being beneficial but not essential
  • A pro-active and organised approach to work with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A collaborative and team-orientated mindset with willingness to take ownership and accountability
  • Familiarity with European regulatory frameworks, market structures and industry dynamics within the PUI sector is an advantage
