About The Role
Supported Housing is a crucial part of the business. As a Support Coach, you will be the primary support for customers, working in a team of Hostel Support Coaches to deliver the best possible outcomes; utilising psychologically informed ways of working to provide a service which is flexible and adaptive to the changing needs of both customers and the team. You will be part of a small team providing intense therapeutic support.
You will work alongside other Support Coaches, the Team Leader, and Services Manager to promote and ensure a psychologically informed way of working by all, to provide a service which is flexible and adaptive to the changing needs of customers and the team.
You will collaborate with the team to provide consistent boundaries and a trauma-informed approach to support, housing management, and financial control. Working closely with our independent living Housing Services Team, you will ensure seamless provision of housing and support throughout our customers' personal journey with Squared.
Working with community support groups, LBC, partner agencies, and internal teams, you will aim to provide a safe environment that builds customer confidence and promotes positive change and development.
- Deliver the day-to-day running of the hostel and support services to customers.
- Work in a psychologically informed way, coaching customers in a person-centred, non-judgmental manner.
- Manage your own caseload, organize support sessions, attend professional meetings, support external appointments, and make referrals.
- Create and implement support and risk management plans following assessments.
- Manage arrears and assist with benefit claims and personal contribution charges, including setting up payment plans and dealing with queries.
- Ensure the accommodation remains safe and secure.
- Support customers to develop independent living skills for successful move-on.
- Conduct room checks and ensure health and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with the team to maintain high service standards and positive customer interactions.
- Recognize challenging situations and support colleagues to influence positive change.
- Record daily support activities and update internal systems.
- Inform customers of their rights and responsibilities, encouraging participation in service improvements.
- Provide cover for other Support Coaches as needed.
- Liaise with professionals and departments to support customer needs.
- Adhere to safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety policies, reporting concerns as required.
- Promote Squared services within the wider community.
