The role involves leading our team in Jersey as a director of Quantity Surveying. The successful candidate will be part of a team of quantity surveyors covering all aspects of professional and project-related building surveying across the private and public sector. Responsibilities include:
- Providing accurate cost advice and reporting
- Delivering projects, commissions and professional assignments
- Assuming a leading role in setting objectives and priorities, working as a proactive team player
- Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for successful project completion; liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control
- Undertaking commercial management services with limited supervision
- Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner
- Managing a quantity surveying team and mentoring junior members of the team
- Contributing to achieving the targets of the five-year plan and taking responsibility for P&L of cost management services
- Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships
- Networking with clients and attending relevant events to promote Currie & Brown in Jersey
- Participating in business development, winning work and fee generation of the cost management service
- Taking a lead role in interfacing with clients and other consultants at all project stages

- Technical qualification in a construction-related discipline
- Member of a relevant professional organisation
- Technical delivery experience gained within a construction consultancy
- Knowledge of local and national commercial marketplace
- Experience of project delivery in public and private sectors
- Ability to run and deliver significant projects
- Good technical writing, client-facing and communication skills
- Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive and willing to work in a mutually supportive environment
