Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of safeguarding best practices for children.
  • Ability to carry out assessments and co-produce individual support plans.
  • Experience in completing risk assessments and making referrals.
  • Ability to develop support programmes.
  • Experience working with children and young people.
  • Understanding of intimate teen violence.
  • Confidence to work within educational services.
  • Ability to deliver group work.
  • Understanding of child and adolescent development.
  • Knowledge of ACEs and trauma-informed interventions.

Additional Qualities and Responsibilities:

  • Understanding issues affecting children who have experienced domestic violence and abuse.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion responsibilities.
  • Person-centred approach at all times.
  • Sharing best practice knowledge.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required to meet service and staff needs.
  • Act with integrity, trustworthiness, and treat people with dignity and respect.
  • Remain calm in crisis or emergency situations.
  • Ensure all services meet contractual requirements.
  • Prioritize clients in service design and delivery decisions.
  • Work to raise awareness of the service, produce publicity materials, and develop relationships within and outside the organization. Be an ambassador and champion for our work.
