Volunteers needed to support regular Community Hubs run by the Refugee Council by supporting with children’s activities, informal ESOL conversation practice and accompanying individuals to and from the groups.

Location: Herts Refugee Council Community Hubs (either: Hertford, Borehamwood, Bushey, Stevenage or St Albans)

Time commitment: Minimum of 2 hours a week (hours can be flexible according to the demands of the project)

Responsible to: HWR Area Convenor

Main role name: Volunteer Community Hub Support

Description: Support regular Community Hubs run by the Refugee Council by supporting with children’s activities, informal conversation practice and accompanying individuals to and from the groups.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Accompanying refugees to and from the Community Hubs if they struggle with directions.
  • Assisting tutor with delivery of ESOL classes by taking part in informal conversation practice.
  • Assisting with activities for the children attending with their parents.

NOTE: this is an unpaid, volunteer position.
