Position Summary: Able to perform the essential functions of kitchen staff positions on an as-needed basis. Opaa! Food Management, Inc. operates in 8 states in the Midwest. Our pay rates vary depending on state and position. Please apply, and a Hiring Manager will discuss pay with you in more detail.

Functions Of The Job

  • Essential Functions Production: Assist with set-up of serving lines daily and ensure all food is held at the required temperature. Stock milk coolers and prepare for service. Assist in food preparation according to the menu plan and Opaa! recipes. Plan and prep for upcoming menus. Operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other equipment with proper certification. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas, including equipment and dishes. Manage inventory, practice FIFO, and keep cooler/storage racks clean. Maintain dishwashing area, monitor chemical usage, and ensure cleanliness of dishes and equipment. Requisition food and supplies through the Kitchen Manager. Prepare baked goods like bread, cakes, and cookies, and present them appealingly. Batch cook to ensure quality and presentation. Set up serving/bar lines, ensure proper food temperatures, and restock as needed. Serve food with proper utensils and presentation, maintaining hospitality standards. Keep serving lines stocked with food, condiments, napkins, silverware, and dishes.
  • Compliance: Prepare foods per menu and recipes, ensuring consistency. Follow standardized recipes and meal patterns per HHFKA and CACFP regulations. Maintain accurate production records. Follow HACCP procedures, record temperatures, and ensure food safety. Obey safety rules, report unsafe conditions, and participate in safety programs. Participate in daily cleaning routines, meetings, and training. Promote Opaa!’s Core Values. Comply with timekeeping policies.
  • Administrative: Handle customer payments, make change, and operate POS or computer systems. Complete paperwork, tray counts, and meal reconciliations daily. Record work hours and notify supervisors of shift issues. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical/Visual Activities or Demands: Frequently stand, walk, sit, squat, climb, balance, kneel, crawl, push, pull, grasp, feel, taste, smell, talk, hear, and reach. Lift and move objects up to 25 pounds regularly, occasionally exerting over 60 pounds. Require specific vision abilities, including focus, depth perception, and color vision.

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred; or up to one month related experience, training, or equivalent.
