Our client in Barnsley are looking for a Stores Assistant Driver to join the Stores Team on a Part time basis. This would be a great opportunity to be involved in improving homes and communities throughout Barnsley.
The Stores Driver
You will have good organisational skills, good attention to detail, and can work on your own initiative. You should have good IT skills including Excel and have some experience of maintaining a stock management system. You will be open to change and new ideas and be able to communicate well verbally and in writing.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
- To drive vehicles up to and including 3 tonnes carrying capacity.
- To carry out relevant vehicle checks to ensure that the vehicle meets with legislative road transport standards.
- To transport materials between the depot, properties and agreed locations around the Borough.
- To collect materials from our suppliers and deliver to locations around the Borough.
- To be responsible for ensuring all materials for delivery are secured on the vehicle using the appropriate straps, anchor points and containers.
- To assist with picking orders for delivery.
- Stock rotation and housekeeping in the Stores area.
Requirements And Skills
- Minimum 2 years driving experience loading and delivering goods.
- Demonstrate a positive, flexible approach to team working.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Ability to organise own workload and effectively prioritise tasks.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety and manual handling.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the service; additional hours may be required.
Hours
The core hours are Wednesday to Friday 07:30 - 15:30. This role is initially for 3 months. PPE will be provided and must be worn at all times.
