Newstaff Employment is hiring an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant in Leighton Buzzard to join a well-regarded school committed to delivering outstanding education. This is an exciting opportunity for someone confident in leading lessons, supporting teaching staff, and helping pupils thrive academically and emotionally.
Location: Leighton Buzzard
Salary: £16.50 – £17.50 per hour + accrued holiday pay
Working Hours: Full-time or Part-time, Term-time only
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff
- Lead classes during teacher PPA time or absence
- Provide one-to-one and group support for pupils, including those with SEND
- Deliver targeted interventions to help close attainment gaps
- Assist with tracking pupil progress and maintaining accurate records
- Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment
Requirements:
- Previous teaching or lesson delivery experience in UK schools
- Proven ability to support learning in either primary or secondary settings
- Confident in delivering pre-planned lessons independently
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Patient, proactive and flexible attitude
- A genuine passion for education and child development
