A specialist UK engineering firm is hiring a Mechanical Fitter/Assembler at their Bristol facility, following recent contract wins and rapid business growth. This is a hands-on role for a motivated individual looking to join a respected team that designs and builds bespoke mechanical systems from the ground up. Ideal for someone with early experience in assembly or manufacturing, this role offers strong long-term progression, extensive in-house training, and the chance to work on high-quality, precision-built products used across multiple industries.
Working closely with their clients within the following sectors: Aerospace, Automotive, Food & Beverage, Medical/Healthcare, General Manufacturing.
The Role:
- Mechanical assembly and fitting of components to detailed specifications
- Work on a wide range of precision-engineered products including screw jacks, heavy-duty linear actuators, gearboxes, custom electromechanical lifting systems, and suspension components
- Interpret technical drawings and use hand/power tools effectively
- Perform quality checks and collaborate with engineers to resolve issues
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment and support other departments as needed
The Candidate:
- 1-3 years' mechanical fitting/assembly experience
- Confident reading technical drawings and using tools
- Reliable, detail-focused, and team-oriented
- Bonus: NVQ/City & Guilds, basic machining skills
The Benefits:
- £30,000-£35,000 base salary with an incredible OTE up to £50,000
- Daily overtime available (paid at 1.5x)
