Our client is an independent fund manager who are currently looking for a mid or senior-level deal professional in their energy investment team, to help the to originate and execute deals in the energy transition sector across a range of technologies. They are a London-based fund with lots of exciting plans to grow off the back of new fundraising efforts. This role would suit a deal captain from another fund, IPP or banking team focused on deals in the energy transition space. THE ROLE Originating investment opportunities Screening of investment opportunities for managed funds through overseeing qualitative research, financial modelling of projected revenues and credit risk analysis Lead on the execution of investments and supervise the due diligence work relating to them Identify and drive fundraising of new fund ideas for Energy. Confident in building/ assessing financial models to accurately value investment opportunities Preparing investment papers putting forward key risks, mitigations and investment recommendations Negotiating of legal documentation for investments, taking responsibility for making commercial decisions Liaising with internal and external advisers and intermediaries on investments, keeping deals moving and driving through to completion Maintaining the highest standards of compliance through execution, in keeping with obligations to clients, counterparties and regulatory bodies Supporting the wider Energy Team in the delivery of their objectives and responsibilities Maintaining Regular communication with the board, brokers, and other stakeholders regarding deal prospects and progress Assist with ancillary work-streams including research, accounting, and other operational matters in relation to the fund’s day-to-day business Ensure that post investment there is a smooth handover of assets to Portfolio Management Taking board positions on investee companies Assisting in the fundraising process and liaising with investors, together with the Head of Energy and the Head of Portfolio management, as appropriate THE CANDIDATE Between 6-12 years of deal experience in the energy transition sector Experience of debt and equity deals preferred Experience of investing in Europe preferred Proactive and self-motivated Creative thinker with the ability to generate new ideas Strategic mindset with the ability to see the big picture Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence others High level of professionalism and ethical conduct Strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement Flexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed
