Nissan Formula E Team has been a competitive force in motorsport and the FIA Formula E World Championship for many years. Based in Viry-Châtillon, in the Paris area (France), we are looking for a Tyre Expert to join our team and contribute to our ongoing development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Physical data gathering: Define and execute tire testing plans, including attending tire dyno, trailer sessions and track test.
- Tire Modeling: From multiple data sets, perform tire modeling, focusing on mechanical and thermal performance.
- Simulation: Work with vehicle dynamics and simulation engineers closely to integrate tire performance insights and assist for proper correlation of the provided models.
- Track Characterization: Conduct track surface measurements and provide associated tire setup and performance strategies.
- Setup Recommendations: Provide car setup recommendations for test sessions, including camber, pressure, and toe specifications.
- Track Test Support: Manage tire sets, monitor wear patterns, and adjust tire pressure and temperature for optimal performance during development session.
- Performance Analysis: Analyze test data to identify improvement areas and ensure tire performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tire development, modeling and testing.
- Strong knowledge of tire dynamics, including mechanical and thermal behaviour.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle and tire testing, and data acquisition tools.
- Proficiency in simulation tools (Matlab/Simulink and other simulation software).
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills for presenting technical findings.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Passionate about tire performance and vehicle dynamics.
- Professional proficiency in English.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in motorsport or high-performance automotive engineering.
- Familiarity with tire modeling tools and simulation software.
