Working on top-tier design teams, we are on a mission to be the premier choice for structural waterproofing design input.
We have a key opportunity for a highly capable Practice Director to play a pivotal role in achieving our ambitious goals of being recognised as THE premier choice for structural waterproofing design input. As our new Director, you’ll be a “completer finisher” with a meticulous approach to drive operational excellence.
Operating within an Entrepreneurial Operating System (EoS) model, we are looking for a Director who will function as our Integrator. This crucial leadership position is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of our talented team of technical consultants. You will be the steady hand who ensures our strategic goals, set in collaboration with our Technical Director, are translated into clear, actionable plans and executed with precision.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Overseeing contract monitoring to the highest industry standards, ensuring compliance with UK construction contracts, and managing tender processes with meticulous attention to detail.
- Implementing and maintaining efficient business processes and procedures, providing managerial oversight to our growing technical team, and developing quarterly objectives to ensure strategic alignment and managing our internal budget and contracts.
- Shaping our service offering to best meet target client needs and ensure that our team can deliver high value consultancy to appropriate target markets.
- Contributing to the development of high-quality technical reports, infographics, and presentations to support our project documentation.
What We’re Looking For:
It’s time to shift the construction industry. We’re driven by the belief that poor contractual processes, the race to the bottom on price, and unsustainable pressure on consultants are holding the industry back. We’re here to change that, leveraging our deep understanding of procurement and contract strategy to drive improvement from the top down.
We are looking for an integrator with a proven track record in a leadership role within the UK construction professions. You should possess:
- A construction-related degree (Chartered status with RICS, APM, CIOB, ICE, RIBA is preferred).
- A minimum of 5 years post-chartership experience with a leading building or construction consultancy.
- A deep understanding of UK construction consultancy contracts, defect analysis, and procurement.
- Experience in construction monitoring and employer’s agent responsibilities.
More Than Just Experience – We Value Your Approach:
We need someone with an ownership mindset. A natural completer-finisher, who takes pride in structuring and optimising business operations. You are likely to be someone who:
- Is dependable and systematic, capable of shaping and testing procedures and processes to grow the business.
- A strong team player who effectively motivates and guides individuals to achieve outstanding results.
- Is highly task-oriented and decisive, focusing on completing responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
- Possesses exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
- Able to reshape a client offering, challenge assumptions, and bring new ideas back to the table.
- Makes decisions based on logic and practicality, focusing on concrete data and evidence.
- Is responsible and loyal, consistently fulfilling commitments and demonstrating a strong sense of duty.
- Values a well-organised work environment with clear expectations.
If these qualities resonate with your professional style, you are likely to thrive in our environment.
Opportunity Highlights
- Take ownership of a key leadership role within a niche sector renowned for its expertise.
- Be a key decision-maker, directly influencing our long-term success.
- Receive a competitive salary (circa ÂŁ70,000), healthcare, a 6% pension, and generous profit share within the business.
- Join a company that values credibility, expertise, and impact, offering a predictable and reliable workplace.
- Work in an environment where clear objectives and a focus on factual data drive progress.
To Apply:
We value diverse perspectives and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where all team members can thrive. We particularly encourage applications from individuals who bring varied experiences and insights to the technical domain. We look forward to hearing from you.
