This opportunity is in the solution design and development arena for Data Center Manager who will play a major role with the technical design and development of the company’s technical offerings. The role is based at our Leicester office with occasional assignments at client locations.

Experience in scheduling and performing routine maintenance on data center infrastructure.

Skills in responding to and managing incidents or outages, including root cause analysis and resolution.

Proficiency with monitoring tools and systems for tracking data center performance, including environmental conditions, system health, and uptime.

Ability to generate and present reports on data center performance, incidents, and operational metrics to stakeholders.

Skills in managing, training, and developing a team of data center technicians and engineers.

Ability to foster a positive work environment and motivate team members to achieve operational goals.

Strong communication skills for interacting with team members, stakeholders, and vendors.

Ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including procedures, configurations, and incident logs.

Skills in developing and implementing disaster recovery plans and ensuring data center readiness for emergencies.

Ability to conduct regular testing of disaster recovery procedures to ensure effectiveness.

Ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and make informed decisions to resolve data center challenges.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience Needed [The candidate must demonstrate these in all stages of assessment]

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.

Should have 2 to 3 years of experience Data Management or a related field.

Knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, network equipment, and cooling systems.

Proficiency with network architecture, including LAN/WAN, network topologies, and network protocols.

Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.

Experience with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).

Skills in maintaining and troubleshooting hardware components, including servers, storage devices, and network equipment.

Understanding of data protection practices, including encryption, data backup, and disaster recovery.

Familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO/IEC 27001.

Skills in forecasting and managing data center capacity requirements for power, cooling, and space.

Ability to plan for and implement scalable solutions to accommodate growing infrastructure needs.

Skills in budgeting for data center projects, including cost estimation and financial tracking.

Experience with project management methodologies and tools for planning and executing data center upgrades, expansions, or migrations.

Ability to manage relationships with vendors and service providers, including negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.

Certifications such as Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP), Certified Data Center Manager (CDCM), or Data Center Certified Associate (DCCA) is an added advantage.
