Your new companyYour new company is a highly experienced consultancy specialised in mechanical, electrical and sustainable areas of building design. They work closely with education, commercial, conservation, hotels, sport and leisure, residential, healthcare, and community sectors.They have offices in 6 different locations in the UK. Your new role will be based in Cambridge or Norwich.
Your new roleDue to recent growth and expansion, your new company is now looking for a senior mechanical design engineer.The role will involve engineering support to the practice by providing expertise in the field of mechanical engineering in the built environment to be included in design and project management. You will be meeting with clients to establish project briefs, formulating sound engineering, cost-effective solutions. You will ensure designs not only meet functional requirements but are fully compliant with all relevant legislation, codes of practice, CIBSE guides, building regulations and best practice and environmentally sensitive. Prepare budget costs for client consideration and draw up tender documentation. Projects manage site work from commencement to completion and monitor site work against specification requirements. Carry out inspections of existing installations and submit condition reports and agree contractor final accounts.
What you’ll need to succeedTo succeed, your new company is looking for someone who has a degree or masters in engineering, is a member of the chartered institute of building services (or similar), chartered engineer status, full driving licence and excellent communication skills, problem-solving and a good decision marker.
