The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting an experienced Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer to join a leading Engineering consultancy and to work within the Nuclear Defence sector.
Job Overview:
This includes the design and construction of new infrastructure, life extensions and upgrades, maintaining ongoing operations, and decommissioning. You will be involved with all aspects of safety case support.
Some of your duties will include:
- Shaping the nuclear safety case strategy.
- Working closely with project partners to ensure a safety informed design.
- Engaging with stakeholders to facilitate ‘Right First Time’ delivery (incl. designers, client, site, and regulatory body (e.g. DNSR, ONR)).
- Undertaking safety assessments and safety analysis (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, HAZAN, etc).
- Producing safety reports and other technical documents (e.g. PSR, PCSR, ALARP reports, etc).
- Support to Engineering Substantiation activities.
- Managing/Leading Safety Case activities and teams.
What do you need to succeed?
- You have a proven track record in safety, ideally within the defence and nuclear domain, or other highly regulated industries.
- Honours Degree (or equivalent) in relevant discipline.
- Chartered (or working towards Chartership status).
- Technical practitioner in the Nuclear/Defence domains, able to demonstrate good engineering judgement with experience in applying fundamental engineering principles.
