4basebio is an innovative gene synthesis company with the ambition to provide high quality, synthetic DNA for use in gene therapies and gene vaccines. The company is setting up a new research and development team at our offices in Cambridge, UK to facilitate the scaling and optimisation of our proprietary DNA manufacturing process. We are looking for dynamic and experienced team members to help us achieve our ambitions and goals.

The Manufacturing Scientist would be responsible for performing functions related to production and GMP manufacturing operations. Adhering to all QMS policies and procedures, cGMPs and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all manufacturing operations including but not limited to component transfer and preparation, equipment and area preparation, media preparation, up and downstream manufacturing, and cleaning of process areas
  • Support the monitoring and maintenance of the facility and direct utilities in accordance with company & regulatory guidelines
  • Maintain QMS documentation, keep accurate records, follow instructions and comply with company policies
  • Contribute to housekeeping tasks to support manufacturing operations including cleaning, sanitisation and sterilisation of equipment and components
  • Ensure compliance with Quality policies, SOPs and Health and Safety procedures
  • Support troubleshooting activities and assist with continuous improvement initiatives
  • Undertake any other appropriate roles and responsibilities that reasonably fall within the role holder’s skills and experience as requested
  • Travel to other 4basebio sites as required

Person Specification:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, organised and enthusiastic and comfortable working autonomously or in a team environment
  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience of working in a cell manufacturing facility to standards of GMP and Good Clinical Practice desirable
  • Willingness to follow GMP PPE requirements during the working shift
  • Previous manufacturing experience desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Must have right to work in the UK
