Senior Construction Project Manager | Data Centers | Europe

Our client, a global leader in designing, building, and operating cutting-edge data centre facilities that support the digital backbone of some of the world’s largest and most innovative organisations, is looking for an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to lead the development of large-scale data centres across Europe.

This role requires expertise in managing large-scale projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of data centre construction projects valued at €100M+, from planning to completion.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, engineers, and project managers, to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality projects.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring compliance with all regional regulations and industry standards.
  • Coordinate design, permitting, and environmental requirements with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Implement strategic sourcing plans for contractors and vendors, ensuring competitive pricing and quality execution.
  • Conduct site inspections to validate that installations align with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Lead project meetings, provide regular updates to senior leadership, and mitigate risks to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Drive value engineering and constructability reviews to optimize cost and efficiency.
  • Promote and enforce industry-leading safety practices throughout all phases of construction.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience managing large-scale construction projects, with a focus on data centres or mission-critical facilities.
  • Proven ability to manage €100M+ projects, including urban environments with logistical challenges.
  • Expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, as well as regulatory and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Primavera, MS Project, and Excel.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Lean Construction principles and sustainable building certifications (e.g., LEED) is a plus.
