Finatal is working with a rapidly growing professional services business executing a large-scale buy & build strategy. Backed by a leading private equity firm, this is a pivotal opportunity to lead financial consolidation and technical accounting in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Role Overview
As the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in managing financial consolidation, technical accounting, and process improvements to support the company’s aggressive acquisition strategy. Reporting to the CFO, you will ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the expanding group structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the consolidation of financial statements across multiple acquired entities.
- Oversee technical accounting, ensuring compliance with relevant financial reporting standards.
- Develop and enhance financial controls, policies, and procedures to support scalability.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with M&A teams to integrate new acquisitions seamlessly into the financial framework.
- Prepare board and investor reports, offering key insights into group financial performance.
- Support audit and tax compliance, liaising with external advisors and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications & Experience
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification (preferred).
- Proven track record as a Financial Controller within a high-growth, PE-backed, or acquisitive business.
- Strong technical accounting expertise, including IFRS or UK GAAP.
- Experience in financial consolidation within a multi-entity structure.
- Advanced proficiency in financial systems, ERP tools, and Excel.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complexity.
- Highly adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
