Baker – Welwyn
We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Morning Baker to take the bread and baked goods production to the next level. This is an early start role, roughly 5am-2pm working predominantly alone, so reliability is key. Based in a purpose-built bakery, this role will involve preparing a variety of bread items along with traybakes, cookies, brownies and similar items for the in-house restaurants and Farm shop. Known locally for outstanding Sourdough bread, so Sourdough knowledge would be an advantage.

The Place:
A stunning four-star hotel with dining, in the Hertfordshire countryside. There are three main food led outlets, each has its own uniquely crafted seasonally changing menu, all distinctly different from one another. There is also a beautiful event space for weddings and private and corporate events with menus to match. They have their own vegetable garden and cookery school and utilise their own livestock on the menus.
The Person:
- Previous experience in a similar environment is essential, this could be in the retail/restaurant/contract catering environments.
- At least 1 year working in a baking role
- Ideally be able to drive or live locally
- A great knowledge of Viennoiserie, Sourdough baking and some elements of patisserie would be an advantage.
- Someone who is creative in their work – you must enjoy being a “hands-on”
- Ability to work independently with confidence
