Contract: 3 months (Outside IR35)

Rate: £440-£640 a day

Start Date: Mid-June

Altum Consulting is partnering with a leading global transformation consultancy to find experienced Consultants and Senior Consultants to support their rapidly growing Payroll Practice. This is your opportunity to work on high-impact payroll transformation projects, collaborate with top-tier clients, and play a key role in a high-performing team consultancy team.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, fast-paced consulting team focused on delivering real value through practical, future-ready payroll solutions. International travel may be required during early-stage assessments.

Your Role at a Glance

Client Delivery

• Support delivery of end-to-end payroll transformation programmes
• Help design and optimise payroll operating models—including process improvement, system selection, and implementation
• Conduct data analysis and assess payroll structures to identify opportunities for efficiency and compliance
• Preparing and delivering content for workshops or presentations;
• Facilitating workshops and client discussions;
• Manage project tasks and timelines, contributing to stakeholder engagement and solution development
• For senior consultants: own key workstreams, manage client relationships, and ensure high-quality delivery across the board

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in or exposure to payroll transformation—either in-house or within a consultancy environment
• Strong understanding of payroll systems, operational processes, and international/local compliance requirements
• Ability to deliver high-quality project outcomes in fast-paced, client-facing environments
• Analytical mindset and confidence in interpreting payroll data and insights
• For senior-level roles: ability to manage workstreams, coach colleagues, and influence stakeholders
• A passion for making payroll work better—for both organisations and their people
