Position Overview
The Principal Cloud Platform Architect/Engineer will define, implement, and maintain Mastercard's cloud initiatives, focusing on Mergers & Acquisitions. This includes establishing strategies, principles, standards, and integration approaches to support the onboarding of new entities. Note: Travel to Mastercard offices and/or M&A entity locations is expected, including international travel as Mastercard is a global company.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate across organizations to influence decisions, drive outcomes, and build trust through leadership and delivery.
- Communicate vision and integrate industry standards into strategic changes, identifying synergies, risks, and opportunities.
- Design architectures from proof of concept to operational applications, ensuring requirements are met.
- Optimize existing cloud architecture, drive innovation, and improve customer experience.
- Manage architecture issues and ensure best practices are followed, documenting exceptions and trade-offs.
- Support automation and process improvement initiatives.
- Advise on architectural and operational problems, evaluate new technologies for deployment.
- Engage in community initiatives, mentor team members, and contribute to standards and reusable patterns.
Experience
- Proficiency with AWS is essential; GCP/Azure experience is a plus.
- Experience leading global teams and evaluating new technologies.
- Strong background in security, service standards, and large-scale initiatives.

- Skills in evaluating practices, cost analysis, and risk management in cloud solutions.
