Devon County Council is looking for an experienced and compassionate Children in Care Social Worker to join our supportive and dedicated team. As a Children in Care Social Worker, you’ll be at the heart of creating positive change for children and young people. Your role will focus on building meaningful relationships, ensuring their voices are heard, and helping them achieve their full potential. What You’ll Be Doing Supporting Children and Young People: Build trusting relationships and advocate for children and young people, ensuring their care plans reflect their individual needs and aspirations. Working with Foster Carers and Families: Provide guidance and support to foster carers and families, helping them provide a nurturing environment for children in care. Team Collaboration: Work closely with a supportive network of colleagues, health professionals, educators, and other agencies to provide holistic care and support. Securing Futures: Play a key role in permanence planning, whether through adoption, long-term fostering, or supporting reunification with families. Empowering Independence: Support young people as they transition out of care, helping them build the skills and confidence they need for a bright future. You will need to have at least completed an ASYE in Childrens Services to be eligible for this post in Devon for a Qualified Social Worker.
