City based, global Investment & Trading company, are looking to hire a graduate Business Analyst to join their growing London operations. The Business Analyst will be joining the London OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods) Department, part of the Steel Business Unit. The London OCTG Department focuses on supplying tubular steel products to the energy industry. With projects across Europe and Africa, including in UK, Norway, Denmark, Senegal & Azerbaijan, the OCTG business operates across a wide geographical area and across multiple energy fields from O&G to Geothermal. The business is also developing a sustainable and digital supply chain management offering for its customer.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • To support development and execution of global framework agreement with key energy customer
  • To support resolution contract and business issues, communicating with customer Global Category Manager
  • To support promotion of Supply Chain Management (SCM) business model among customer operating units
  • To attend and support preparation for periodical global price negotiations & strategic meetings between our client, customer and steel mill
  • To support delivery of global contract strategy to other offices, supporting them to enhance regional business
  • To proactively look for new ways to bring added value to the customer outside of OCTG sales - i.e. digitalisation, standardisation, sustainability, etc.
  • Support business development through Energy Transition collaboration
  • Support budget preparation and reporting process
  • Support sales of OCTG, including tendering activities such as preparation of price offers and contract negotiations
  • Ensure all internal corporate controls and compliance is followed
  • Prepare quarterly dashboard data reporting

To be considered for this position, ideal candidates must have the following experience and skills:

  • Degree either in business or a technical discipline, or qualified by experience
  • Experience working directly in the energy industry (i.e. Oil and Gas)
  • Good understanding of procurement and logistics
  • Experience International Business
  • Good understanding of QAQC, HSSE, Risk Management and Legal implications on business
  • Diligent and strong attention to detail to ensure effective and accurate order and contract management
  • Able to communicate and negotiate effectively with customers and suppliers on a daily basis
  • Adaptable and willing to take on work not always in-line with the job role
  • Have back-office knowledge required for international business (SAP, Excel, Word, Basic understanding of Accounting transactions)
