A leading surveying and monitoring firm that plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and stability of essential infrastructure is looking to take on a Monitoring Surveyor to oversee a portfolio of projects across the UK. In this pivotal role, the Monitoring Surveyor will be conducting and managing monitoring surveys in emergency and planned projects, with a key focus on providing accurate and timely data for infrastructure safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surveying and a keen eye for detail, contributing to the success of projects in often challenging and time-sensitive environments. Key Responsibilities: Perform monitoring surveys and assessments on infrastructure, especially in response to emergency situations like landslips. Set up and operate advanced surveying equipment, including Total Stations, GNSS, and Laser Scanners, to capture precise measurements. Collect and analyse survey data, generating comprehensive reports and presenting findings to project teams and clients. Ensure all survey work adheres to industry standards and safety regulations. Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to address survey requirements and ensure project objectives are met. Conduct regular maintenance and calibration of surveying equipment to ensure optimal performance. Keep detailed records of site visits, equipment usage, and survey data. Support the integration and application of the latest surveying technology and software. Assist with troubleshooting and resolving any on-site technical challenges. Contribute to the development and improvement of monitoring methodologies. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: A degree or equivalent qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. Proven experience in monitoring surveying within the civil engineering or construction industry. Proficiency in using modern surveying instruments and software (e.g., Total Stations, GNSS systems, AutoCAD, monitoring software). A meticulous approach with a strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work effectively under pressure, particularly in urgent or emergency situations. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically on-site. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise professionally with clients and colleagues. A proactive and adaptable mindset, willing to work in varying conditions and environments. A valid UK driving license. What You Will Receive: A standard 40-hour working week with opportunities for overtime. Weekend overtime paid at 1.5x the regular rate.
