We are looking to hear from existing or potential Workshop Technicians of all levels (no experience to experienced) for a brand new opportunity in our Aberdeen-based Test, Measurement & Inspection team.
Depending on your existing skills & experience we could consider you for one of 2 possible levels of Workshop Technician within our team.
Key Responsibilities

  • To test and run our Test, Measuring and Inspection products in line with Manufacturer requirements ready for re-hire to customers.
  • Make assessments on whether equipment can be made available for hire in a cost effective way
  • To test, inspect and calibrate hire fleet and customer equipment
  • Use internal software to record servicing activity and consumption of spare parts.
  • Accurately record spare parts used in servicing and ensure serviced equipment is in the correct system status.

Depending on skill level:

  • Supervising the servicing of a wide range of Test, Measurement, and Inspection products in line with Company procedures and OEM requirements
  • Provide training and supervision for all relevant ESSential, Core, Extended and Service to Order products
  • Train and supervise the use of third-party software to an advanced level and ensure a strong level of record-keeping is maintained
  • Review work completed by other technicians and suggest improvements to processes enacted by other technicians (supporting other ESS Branches)
  • Be able to calibrate all relevant TMI and 3rd party products

What We’re Looking For

  • An Electrical/Mechanical qualification or similar would be preferred but is not essential.
  • We would consider a college leaver with relevant Electrical/mechanical qualifications looking for a role to train and progress within.
  • Knowledge of Test, Measurement, Inspection and Calibration industry desirable but not essential.
  • Good communication skills both with colleagues and customers internally and externally.
  • Willing to attend manufacturers training courses around the UK when requested.
  • Be able to manage workloads and prioritise effectively
  • Competent IT skills, the department operates a fully automated system for which full training will be provided.
