About the team

The Finance and Strategy team\’s core mission is to help Deliveroo make great decisions. We aim to build long-term company value by guiding the company strategy, facilitating world-class execution, understanding the drivers of business performance, delivering accurate financial results, whilst managing risks and keeping an eye out for opportunities.

You will partner with the Global Marketing organisation, a key driver of Deliveroo’s growth and custodian of Deliveroo’s brand. Our partner teams have a diverse range of specialisms across Product, Data, Digital, Promotions, and Brand. We operate a hybrid model, working at least 3 days a week in the office in Cannon Street, London.

About the role

As a Finance & Strategy Associate, you will own the marketing finance data upon which we rely for decision making, you will become an expert in the impact of marketing on our business across the P&L, and you will help manage the governance processes that ensure our marketing decisions undergo the appropriate scrutiny. This role is perfect for a highly analytical, detail-oriented person who enjoys working with non-finance stakeholders in the heart of the business.

You will be responsible for:

Business partnering with a variety of stakeholders up to and including VP

Playing a critical role in annual planning and quarterly forecasting

Tracking against the annual plan and identifying risk and opportunities

Supporting the various stakeholders within the function by working with them through the development and tracking of new initiatives (e.g. new business cases)

Management of monthly P&L reporting and commentary into monthly business reviews

Understanding and influencing the underlying performance drivers to help drive the top and bottom line

Providing proactive, insightful, high quality analysis and thought leadership to support decision making

Requirements

You are a highly analytical, structured thinker, capable of solving difficult, ambiguous problems

You are technically excellent, an expert building large spreadsheet-based financial models (SQL is a bonus)

You strive for zero-defect, are rigorous in the work you produce and challenge anomalies

You will have experience in partnering with wider business stakeholders at all levels and working closely with financial reporting teams

It’s a bonus if you are a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
