Job Description
In this leadership role, you will take responsibility for the scientific and medical capability of the advertising team, including depth of knowledge and pull-through into creative execution. You will directly lead the scientific aspects of complex, high-profile, high-value accounts for the business, and inspire the team to value scientific rigour across the business. You will Think Further to motivate the team; grow business and client partnerships; optimize scientific practices; and proactively develop and advocate for individual members and the wider team, both internally and externally. You will be seen as a strong and experienced leader of scientific knowledge, content creation, creative execution, and communications activities, both internally at Langland and across Publicis Health. You will provide unique contribution(s) to Langland’s reputation across our clients and competitors.
Key responsibilities:
- Build out and lead a best-in-industry scientific/medical capability for the advertising team
- Provide effective leadership, alongside Creative Directors, for the medical copywriting team in terms of scientific knowledge and content creation
- Facilitate and encourage cross-team collaboration (scientific, creative, digital, strategic) to ensure a cohesive approach to client projects
- Effectively construct and communicate strategically aligned scientific narratives that aid in the development of award-winning creative
- Provide critical review of creative and associated materials
- Lead scientific pitch research and presentation up to Publicis Groupe level, with emphasis on complex narratives and programmes, and the scientific/medical pull-through into creative execution
- Provide active counsel and recommendations to clients, including effective navigation of medical review of creative work, and in the development of brand/account plans
- Maintain high-profile visibility within the agency as a scientific and creative expert across multiple therapy areas
- Lead the development of therapy area and/or brand scientific strategy (in collaboration with the Scientific Strategy Team where appropriate)
- Initiate and lead internal/external workshop to solve complex scientific problems and foster strategic alignment
Qualifications
You are an established scientific and creative leader, with extensive heritage in medical communications and advertising, and demonstrated ability at leveraging scientific knowledge into creative execution. You have shown innovation in problem solving, and aptitude at mastering knowledge of therapeutic areas, being the scientific steward of brands and leading scientific discourse. You can confidently produce strategically aligned, compelling scientific narratives, lead a team to deliver the same, and support the creative team to leverage scientific insights into award winning creative. You have and can develop influential networks and relationships through your skills, both internally and externally.
