Your new company
Hays are currently working with a regulator of accounting standards within the Birmingham area to recruit for an Internal Audit Inspector role. They are offering a hybrid working and an opportunity to join a well-established organisation to develop your career.
Your new role
You will be responsible for reviewing the audits completed by the top practice firms and be able to provide findings. You will also make decisions about the significance of issues arising from inspections and be able to commit to improving audit quality through the inspection process. You will need to be a chartered accountant and have previous experience working with large complex audits.
What you'll need to succeed
- Chartered Accountant
- Significant experience at senior manager level or above in the audit profession in the audits of listed and other public interest entities
- Strong technical auditing and accounting skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including drafting reports on individual audits to be sent to the relevant firms and main board directors sitting on Audit Committees.
- The ability to challenge the judgments and quality of work performed by engagement partners and other members of the audit teams whose audits are subject to review. The ability to present and debate issues arising in a sensitive manner and defend the AQR position on auditing judgments.
- Effective project and time management skills to complete file reviews within the timetable set and meet a complex series of deadlines for the different stages of a review.
