Join today and build progress with us. The Opportunity Based onsite at Torr Works near Shepton Mallet, a Limestone Super Quarry and one of the largest in Europe. We now have an opportunity for a Rail Distribution Manager. Reporting to the Distribution & processing manager you’ll take ownership of the loading of freight and delivery of our product. Accountable for 15 colleagues across this area, you’ll be responsible for the safe distribution of 5.5m tonnes of product is move safely and compliantly. You’ll be the pivotal part to our team on site, ensuring the correct measures are in place for rail compliance with up to 14 trains departing daily and in excess of 300 lorries. Onsite we have 14 miles of track, where you manage the inspection and maintenance schedules as well as work to improve our efficiency as a department. You’ll liaise with 3rd party logistics hauliers and rail companies ensuring time schedules. Who you are You’ll be an excellent people manager, able to manage colleagues in a busy operational site. You’ll understand the rail sector, having experience in a company that utilises rail as distribution for its product.
